After earning a Marketing degree from Michigan State University in 1965, Skip excelled in various creative firms. Co-founding Gyro Creative Group in 1982, his agency garnered acclaim from the Graphis Annual and Art Directors Club of New York.
Skip's influence extended beyond his profession. He held leadership roles in AIGA Detroit and actively supported the arts through organizations like the DIA Founders Society and Detroit Artists Market Advisory Board.
Retiring in 2004, Skip established "Old Dog, New Tricks." He curated a significant exhibition at Marshall Frederick's Museum, merging business acumen with artistic expression. Today, Skip remains dedicated to Metro Detroit's artists, immersing himself in the local arts scene and supporting emerging talents. As part of detroit contemporary (dc), Skip aims to support the gallery director in making dc a vibrant creative destination.
