Michael Reid is a freelance artist, muralist, tattooer, gardener, and handyman. Reid works with high school students at the Brightmoor Maker space where he teaches art classes through community arts partnership. Reid’s interest in the arts began when he was a teenager with skateboarding and photography. Reid studied painting and electronic media at Wayne State University. While attending college he lived in a community with other artists, sculptors, musicians, and outsiders, but in 2012 he moved to Brightmoor and in 2013 bought a house and some land to garden and create something beautiful and functional. Artist reception is on October 8 from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.
