Anne Harrington Hughes has exhibited her work extensively. Solo and two person shows include Saginaw Township State of the Arts Special Merit Award Solo Exhibition, Saginaw, The Clabber Girls, Above Gallery, Ypsilanti, MI, and The Colors of April, New York City. Hughes has taught college courses in painting, drawing, basic design and color theory. In 1998, she joined the painting and drawing department at Wayne State University and the Foundations department at College for Creative Studies. Hughes was born in Holland, Michigan in 1967. She received her Bachelors in studio art from Hope College, Holland, Michigan in 1989. Hughes moved to Detroit in 1995 where she completed a MFA in 1998 at Wayne State University. In 2010, she and her husband Steve Hughes became co-founders of Public Pool, an art space in Hamtramck. Hughes keeps a studio and lives with her family in Hamtramck, Michigan, the 2.5 square-mile city within Detroit. You can view more details about her upcoming exhibition at Chalfonte House here.
